Senior Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take charge of the full lifecycle of a long-term high-profile AAA video game porting project, ensuring a smooth adaptation for the new platform. This is a full-time position where you will lead a large, multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional results while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.

You will oversee the roadmap, ensure adherence to project milestones, and will be responsible for communication & strategic direction of the project, driving it from start to launch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivery management: conduct end-to-end project management from planning to release, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
• Process building & improvement: continuously maintain project management processes, documentation and workflows.
• Strategic planning: develop and maintain all of the necessary project artifacts: WBS, High level roadmap, detailed Gantt chart etc. Constantly align project goals with company objectives and product vision.
• Team & Project Leads management: Implement and maintain ScrumBan as the main framework. Oversee a large, cross-functional team (20+ members), including C++  developers, tech artists, QA and designers. Foster collaboration and high performance.
• Risk management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure transparent escalation of critical issues.
• Resource allocation: manage resources effectively to balance workload, ensuring timely and quality output across all project phases.
• Stakeholder communication: act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear updates on project status, risks, and achievements.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
Minimum 4-5 years of project management experience in IT, preferably in soft dev outsourcing, ideally in game development outsourcing.
– Strong understanding of five project life cycle stages (classic PLC), complete understanding of all core processes, experience in training others on these processes.
– Knowledge of software development project management challenges.
– Experience managing large-scale projects involving teams of 20-30+ members.
– Expert with all basic project management tools (WBS, Gantt, etc.)

• Industry knowledge:
– In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (preferably with a focus on game development environments).
– Proficient in Agile & Waterfall project management methodologies.
– Familiarity with live service operations, post-launch content planning, and continuous improvement strategies in game development.
– Ability to work with external client teams and vendors, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.

• Skills:
– Demonstrated ability to lead a large, multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and motivating team members toward achieving project milestones.
– Strong organizational skills, with a strategic mindset for managing complex projects and aligning them with business objectives.
– Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira (Cloud & DB), Confluence
– High level of risk and change management skills, experience in developing risk mitigation strategies, track and report risks.
– Ability to create full transparency and team awareness of existing challenges on a regular basis, controlling owners, and holding assignees accountable for solutions.

– Strategic thinking, ability to resolve complex challenges and remove bottlenecks without creating conflicts.

Nice-to-have and is a big plus:

  • Experience in gamedev or better with video games porting is a big advantage.
  • Experience initiating, planning & executing management of game porting projects from E2E.
  • Knowledge of the complexities involved in porting games across different platforms (consoles, PC, etc.), ensuring that the game performs optimally on each.
